House/shadow progress

I am making progress here, adding more color, using artistic license to liven the colors up some. I should be finished later this week and will post the final version.

Kathleen,

How nice to meet you! I'm so glad you stopped by my place, so that I could find yours!

Your work is lovely! You are doing such a nice job.

I would caution you against using too much ball point - only because I heard that it is very acidic - not acid-free and will not last as archival quality. I only recently learned this myself and was sorely disappointed, because ALL of my text journaling has been done in this way. *sigh* Oh, well. I tried moving to working with the fountain pen I have and I just don't like the flow on the paper as much. My hand tires more easily with it. Tell me more about Pitt pens. Are they ball-point or plastic or felt-tip? I'm looking for something with some flow and not so much drag.

Anyway, glad to meet you. I'll be back again soon. :)

Wow Kathleen this looks gorgeous already! Can't wait to see the finished product. I'm still struggling with the watercolour experiments but hopefully I'll get the hang of it soon.

Nicole, thanks for stopping by my place, too!
Thank you so much for that warning about ball points! I never heard that, not that I'm thinking about permanence or anything for my little sketches, but maybe I'll stick to Pitt pens. I have posted on my Flickr account a ballpoint pen drawing I did in college (dare I tell you how long ago that was??) which seems to have fared well over the years . . .

Pitt pens are made by Faber-Castell, they have permanent ink, and they have a plastic nib. I find the ink flows from them quite nicely, so you may want to give them a try. I got my at Utrecht's, the cheap art store (also online). They were $2 apiece (cheaper than at A.C. Moore, where I've also seen them).

See you later!
