I woke up this morning with this picture in my mind. I know I was awake when I saw it, but I had only just woken up. So maybe it was the tail end of a dream? I saw the picture pretty vividly, so I wanted to get it down. I started drawing at the train stop this morning, worked on it some more on the subway ride (since I had a great train sketch to do--see my Flickr photostream for that drawing), then finished the linework up at lunchtime. I plan to watercolor it to match the colors I saw, which were green for the grass and red for the dress and brown for the hair.
What do you think it could mean? I wondered if it was supposed to be me, but I'm not sure . . . she doesn't have glasses and her hair is longer . . .

Hey Kathleen, just popped in to say again how much I love this sketch!! And again how wonderful that you got it down while it was still fresh. I see you garnered some interpretations of it on Flickr :) I was going to comment there but decided to come here for a cosy visit instead.
I typed 'dream symbolism' into Google and found a link with a dream dictionary - quite interesting. Apparently to dream of green grass means success, so that's good!! There were other things too such as you know you can always rely on yourself, and it's also associated with leisure time and relaxation. Anyhow, I would love to hear what you think using the method Jana suggested.
Okay that's it for me, have a wonderful weekend. How's the weather there? It was sunny & super hot here all week, we sure need some rain soon!
Sweet dreams :D
Laura
Hi Laura,
We had really lovely weather all weekend, and I took Friday off to be with the children, so we had a nice time.
Thank you so much for looking up that dream stuff on Google. I hadn't thought to do that. You are a sweeetheart! I like that success interpretation! also the relaxation and leisure ones, since I hardly get any of that (except Flickring, of course!)
I'm still having a little trouble with Jana's method--"I am the grass, gentling entwining her to keep her from finding her way . . ." or something like that. At least it's gentle! Or, I am the girl, who has lost her way, and knows there is a way out, but doesn't know which way to go . . . There are difficult circumstances in my life which I am not sure what to do about, so that seems to be more closely related . . .
Hi Kathleen,
You are very welcome and so glad to hear you got some family & fun time in over the weekend!!
Re: dream interpreting - I think the mind is a fascinating place, always at work whether we're awake or sleeping. Because life moves so fast these days I think when we dream, our subconscious kicks in and tries to help us work things out, you know? Sometimes it feels like we're lost but I think we do know our way, gentle nudges (the grass) remind us that we've gotten through things before and we will again. Will say a little prayer for you that you work through your circumstances :)
By the way - we got our rain here yesterday!
Hugs,
Laura

Thanks so much, Laura, I really appreciate your prayers. I like the image of the grass gently nudging me the right direction! That's wonderful! I just hope I get there sooner rather than later :~)
